What actually happened? I could hardly find a moment to get anything done. I began to freeze-dry samples in the lab. It took an hour to freeze them and get them into sample vials, etc... and now they will be done in two days or so. I tried to evaporate the water from another sample for preparation, and no matter what the temperature of my water bath, how much vacuum or how cold the water in the condensation tube, the water wouldn't budge. Can water behave like oil, ever? Eureka! Maybe water containing a certain concentration of cellular membranes (which mine does!)... who was I trying to kid...
I entered marks for my students and it took me two hours - I was interrupted so many times by random yet seemingly important things. When I got home for dinner all I wanted to do was sit in front of a cool fan and play in photoshop to make a new image for tonight's post. Instead I have been tied to my gmail interacting with students (its their final exam tomorrow and they are panicked).

So now I just want a moment. One of those moments when you have only spend five minutes doing something you actually elected to do and those five minutes are blissful, productive and satisfying. Tonight, my moment is likely going to be a bedroom moment, and I am looking forward to it.

there are never enough moments in a day...
I am hoping that this weekend I'll find some time
