Lately I've had a hard time trying to classify my blog. I have been crawling around, joining blog networks and doing my due diligence as a hard-working blogger and I am constantly asked to describe my blog and categorize it.
Is it an art blog? I say yes. There is even a museum that has a collection dedicated to this type of retro-Americana:

What about my personal entries? Is it a personal blog? I also discuss science and academia, so is this an educational blog? I am always happy to see categories like "mixed bag" but have a certain hesitation to enter my blog into those categories just in case I miss out on networking opportunities with other more appropriate blogs in my niche.
So, I ask you to help me, tell me what type of blog you think I have. Even if you think it is inappropriate or you have tips for me to become more specialized, I am eager for some advice. I would like to be smart and strategic, but I don't want to outsmart myself away from organic readers that would love my content.

If you want it to be a personal blog, you don't need to categorize beyond that. If you are thinking of a nche you alike to develop you rskills at, or it is something that comes easy to you, then start another blog as an "anything goes" and develop this pne toward that niche you envision. As it is I think it's pretty eclectic. I like the sexual aspect of it because well, I'm a guy ya know??? Anyway .. I hope that helps
Thanks Damien, your comment was very helpful. I haven't been able to tell whether it matters if I have a niche or not. I am happy with it as is, so I'll take your comment as a vote for "personal". I have been leaning towards that category anyhow.
I would say its an eclectic personal blog. I don't think personal blog means it has to just be posts about yourself, just a collection of thoughts and things that interest you as opposed to a niche.
