My server was down. It didn't crash, nothing broke but the server is located in a relatively remote place and for whatever reason there was absolutely no internet service to it for over 48 hours. I could not access it and had no time to get to it (although it wouldn't have mattered because it could not communicate with anything like a server is supposed to). Why do you care? We my blog is hosted by blogger, so the blog was still up and functional. I could still post, so you could still read my blog - this is at the minimum how I keep people happy!
But for anyone who has submitted to the Carnival, made a comment, emailed me regarding advertising or anything else slightly more complex I have appeared to be absent. My monthly newsletter, which leaves from my server, went out two days late. Let me assure you that I have been trying to get in touch with all of you. It is not often that I loose internet connectivity at all and if it happens it is not for that long. Usually it is only for an hour or two at a time and it does not effect anybody.
So the next time I appear to be ignoring your comments or emails, remember that it is not me, but possibly technology.
